The Wellsboro Junior High Soccer team posted 4 first half goals en route to a 6-0 shutout victory over Troy on Monday, October 16.
"We came out quick again with great ball movement and good finishing," head coach Derek Stevens said.
The young Hornets struck first just 3:38 into the contest as Xavier Lecker fed Gabe Cuneo for the goal. Not even two minutes later Lecker found the back of the net unassisted. Cuneo followed that goal with his second of the contest, assisted by Lecker to make it 3-0. Nine minutes into the half Liam Stevens scored on a breakaway, giving the Hornets a 4-0 lead.
In the second half Kate Bryant put Wellsboro up 5-0 with a goal from 18 yards out then Octavian Wyman capped the scoring on another breakaway goal.
Wellsboro improves to 14-0-1 on the year. They are back in action this afternoon against Athens.
