Wellsboro's Junior High Boys Basketball team improved to 10-2 overall on the year following a 41-8 victory over Sayre on Monday, December 18.
The Hornets jumped out to a 13-0 lead after the opening quarter then went on a 28-8 run over the final three quarters. Wellsboro didn't allow a point in the fourth quarter as well.
Griffin Morral led the team with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks while Ransom Schultz pulled down 10 boards, scored 8 points and blocked two shots. Luke Szentesy also scored 8 points and grabbed 2 rebounds, Kody Enck scored 6 points and grabbed 7 rebounds, James Doughtie added 4 points, and RJ Doughtie chipped in three points. Morral also added 4 assists and 3 steals, Enck made 2 steals, and Maddon Mascho made 2 assists.
Wellsboro swept the night, winning the B game 35-12. Tucker Bencus led the team with 9 points while Mascho and Keegan VanZile scored 6 points each.
The team is back in action Thursday night at Williamson.
