The Wellsboro Junior High Girls Basketball team picked up their sixth consecutive win, defeating Williamson 35-8 on Saturday, December 16.
It is the third straight game the young team has held their opponents under 10 points. They have allowed just 17 points over that span.
Lauren Gehman led the team with 7 points, 9 rebounds and 5 steals. Teagan Novinger added 6 points while going 2-for-2 from the foul line and pulling down 4 boards. Peyton Keane ripped 6 boards and added another 4 points. Ady Frantz also had 4 points and 4 steals. Rylee Coolidge contributed 4 points and Paityn Biery, Kate Bryant, Gena Fleming, Kya Lawton and Delaney Morral all chipped in 2 points.
The B team also pulled out a 14-10 win in a tight game that stayed within 2 points until the final 30 seconds. Paityn Biery and Lena Rothermel were the high scorers with 4 points each. Gena Fleming added 2 points and pulled down 9 boards. Maddie Flannery and Kya Lawton also contributed 2 points each. Maddie Nagy had 4 rebounds.
The team is back in action this evening at home against Sayre.
