Zuchowski Shoots 87, Hornets Finish 5th At River Valley

Junior Hayden Zuchowski shot a round of 87 but the Hornets struggled on the afternoon and finished 5th at River Valley Country Club on Tuesday, September 13.

Zuchowski's 87 was good for a 6th place overall finish with teammate Hannalee Cleveland finishing directly behind him with a round of 88.

Senior Blake Hamblin finished with a 102, senior Andrew Merriman carded a 106, junior Silas Jackson shot 132, and senior James Patterson rounded out the field with a 180.

Athens won their 5th straight match with a 356 followed by Wyalusing in 2nd (368), North Penn-Mansfield (374) in 3rd, and Cowanesque Valley (378) in 4th. Towanda (432) finished 6th and Sayre was 7th with a combined score of 498.

Cowanesque Valley's Jordan Vargeson shot a 79 to finish 7-over par to claim the top spot, while North Penn-Mansfield's Andrew Green was a stroke behind with an 80.

Next Monday the league heads to Towanda Country Club on Monday, September 19.
