Zuchowski places top 5 to lead Hornets to 3rd at Towanda

Junior Hayden Zuchowski finished 5th overall with a round of 87 to help lead the Wellsboro Golf team to a 3rd place overall finish at Towanda Country Club on Thursday, September 1.

Wellsboro shot a combined team score of 377 to finish behind Athens (348) and Wyalusing (354). North Penn-Mansfield (390) was 4th, Cowanesque Valley (401) was 5th, Towanda (448) was 6th, and Sayre (461) was 7th.

Junior Hannalee Cleveland carded a 94, senior Blake Hamblin shot 97, senior Andrew Merriman finished with a 99, senior Sam Rudy had a 108, and junior Silas Jackson rounded out the team with a 109.

Wyalusing's Nick Salsman won the individual competition with a round of 75, followed by Athens' Evan Cooper (78), North Penn-Mansfield's Andrew Green (80), and Athens' Cameron Sullivan (86).

Wellsboro (8-4, 8-4 NTL) returns to action on Tuesday, September 6 at Corey Creek in Mansfield.
