The Wellsboro Junior High Boys Basketball team improved to 7-0 following a 27-11 win over rival North Penn-Mansfield on Thursday, November 17.
It took Wellsboro a few minutes for their shots to start falling, but once they did, they held a 9-3 lead after the 1st, led 13-6 at halftime, and 22-9 following the 3rd quarter.
Griffin Morral led all scorers with 9 points, Ethan Keane scored 7, Max Mascho added 6, Ransom Schultz finished with 3 points, and Gideon Lawton pitched in 2 points. He also grabbed 3 rebounds.
Keane added 4 steals and 4 assists to his point total, Mascho grabbed 4 rebounds and made 5 steals, Morral also had 5 steals and grabbed 3 boards, and Schultz came down with 8 rebounds and blocked two shots.
In the B game the Hornets won 39-3, with Mansfield's lone basket coming in the final seconds of the game. Jacob Brown led the way with 10 points, Luke Szentesy dropped 9 points, and RJ Doughtie scored 6.
Wellsboro hosts Towanda tonight.
