A goal with 5:19 remaining was all it took to give Williamson a 1-0 win over the Wellsboro Varsity Girls Soccer team on Thursday, September 29.
Williamson scored on a bouncing ball goal off a corner kick.
Wellsboro was held to just one shot on goal, attempted by junior Sara Seeling. Williamson took 15 shot attempts, 9 of them saved by sophomore Annie Gehman.
Williamson also had a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks.
In the JV game both teams played to a 1-1 draw. Williamson scored with 7:38 remaining in the first half, while the young Lady Hornets scored with 13:54 remaining in the game. Freshman Emily Benjamin scored the Wellsboro goal.
The loss drops the Lady Hornets to 5-6 (4-4 NTL) on the year. The girls are back on the field at Jersey Shore for a non-league game on Monday, October 3.
