Seniors Peyton McClure and Jack Poirier and head coach Todd Fitch and staff were named Player of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year, and Coaching Staff of the Year as the NTL released their boys soccer all-star teams on Monday, November 7.
Fitch and coaching staff were named Coaching Staff of the Year following an undefeated league season (12-0).
Also joining McClure and Poirier on this year's All-Star team are junior Caden Smith (1st team), senior Sam Rudy (1st team), senior Aiden Gehman (1st team), sophomore Alex Citrino (2nd team), junior Watson Feil (2nd team), and junior Ian Hoose (2nd team).
McClure scored 5 goals and had 5 assists on the season while assisting Gehman with 8 shutouts this season.
Poirier tied for 2nd on the team with 18 goals, lead the team with 19 assists, and scored 55 points on the season.
Smith led Wellsboro with 25 goals, scored 56 points, and had 6 assists.
Rudy tied with Poirier with 18 goals on the season and made 5 assists.
Gehman recorded 87 saves, allowed just 25 goals (1.451 GAA) and recorded 8 shutouts.
Citrino scored 23 points (5 goals, 13 assists) and Feil and Hoose made significant contributions on the defensive side of the ball.
"I am happy that so many of our boys received this well-deserved recognition," Coach Fitch said. "As I've said before, their on-field performance and and any awards that follow are just returns on the investment they make into their athletic development."
"If you take a look at where our four seniors landed on the list, it goes without saying that they leave big holes for us to fill for next season."
