The Wellsboro Girls Track team won their first meet of the year in an NTL quad meet against Towanda, Sayre and Northeast Bradford on Tuesday, April 26.
The Lady Hornets scored 103 points. Towanda was 2nd with 94, NEB was 3rd (48), and Sayre was 4th (14). NEB won the boys meet with 84 points, Wellsboro was 2nd with 81, followed by Towanda (78) and Sayre (25).
Junior Kate DeCamp (14.1) was 3rd in the 100m and 3rd in the 200m (29.9) with teammate Isobel Anderegg (31.2) in 4th. Sophomore Emily Richardson (1:10.3) was 3rd in the 400m, juniors Rosalind King (3:03.1) and Madeline Gage (3:03.7) were 2nd and 3rd in the 800m, Gage won the 1600m (6:25.6), sophomore Hannalee Cleveland (19.6) was 3rd in the 100m hurdles, and sophomore Sara Seeling (58.3), junior Ella Posada (58.4), and sophomore Maddy Mascho (1:02.4) were 3rd-5th in the 300m hurdles.
Anderegg (68-ft, 4), senior Emma Coolidge (65-ft, 8), and sophomore Hannah Gilmour (58-ft, 6) were 4th-6th in the discus, Coolidge (27-ft, 7), sophomore Grace Harlan (25-ft, 6), and Gilmour (25-ft, 3.5) were 2nd-4th in the shot put, and Coolidge (100-ft, 7) won the javelin. Freshman Annie Gehman (13-ft, 7) won the long jump and was 2nd in the triple jump (28-ft, 2) and high jump (4-ft, 8), and senior Emma Owlett (7-ft) won the pole vault.
Wellsboro won the 4x800m relay in 12:24.9. Towanda won both the 4x100m and 4x400m relays.
In the boys meet, junior Jack Poirier (11.7) won the 100m with sophomore Dillion Boyce (11.8) finishing 2nd. Porier (24.2) also won the 200m, and freshman Micah Vickery (20.1) was 4th in the 110m hurdles and took 1st in the 300m hurdles (49.6). Senior Justice Harlan (100-ft, 3) was 4th in the discus, Harlan (35-ft, 4) and junior Wyatt Gastrock (34-ft) were 5th and 6th in the shot put, and sophomores Noah Morey (121-ft, 1) and Watson Feil (115-ft, 10) were 1st and 2nd in the javelin. Poirier (17-ft, 8.75), junior Aiden Gehman (17-ft, 7), and freshman Alex Citrino (17-ft, 3) swept the long jump, Gehman (37-ft, 11) won the triple jump, and junior Spencer Wetzel (9-ft, 0.5) tied for 2nd in the pole vault.
Wellsboro won the 4x100m relay in 49.3. NEB won the 4x400m and 4x800m relays.
The teams are back in action on Tuesday, May 3rd against Canton and Wyalusing.
