The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team fell to Williamsport in 4 sets on Tuesday, September 20.
The loss ends a 4-game win streak by Wellsboro.
Williamsport cruised to a 25-8 first set victory. Wellsboro won the second 26-24 then the Lady Millionaires took the next two sets 25-16 to claim the 3-1 win.
Senior Emily Starkweather scored 10 points and had 3 kills, an assist, and 9 digs to lead the Lady Hornets. Junior Natalie Cleveland had 16 digs, junior Meredith Brownlee had 7 kills and 10 digs, sophomore Lexi Urena recorded 8 points, 6 kills, 6 assists and 10 digs.
Sophomore Paige Logsdon also added 6 kills, 6 blocks, and 3 digs.
Williamsport also took the JV game, defeating Wellsboro 2-0 (25-8, 25-13).
The loss drops the Lady Hornets to 6-3 (3-2 NTL Large School Division). The team is back in action for an NTL cross-over game with Canton on Thursday, September 22.
