The Wellsboro Varsity Girls Soccer team dropped their second straight game in a 3-1 loss to Loyalsock on Saturday, September 24.
The Lady Lancers scored a pair of goals in the first half, starting just after the midway point. They added their second goal with 5:14 remaining in the second half on a penalty kick, resulting from a hand ball in the box. Wellsboro's goal came with under three minutes to play in the second half on a direct kick by senior Jordyn Abernathy.
Loyalsock out shot Wellsboro 16-5 with sophomore Annie Gehman making 13 stops in goal. The Lady Lancers also had a 4-0 advantage in corner kicks.
In the JV game Loyalsock took the win 1-0 on a goal with 4:10 showing on the 1st half clock.
The loss drops the Lady Hornets to 4-5 (3-3 NTL) on the year. The team is back in action at Towanda on Tuesday, September 27 to resume league play.
