The Wellsboro Junior High Girls Basketball team erased a 4-game losing streak with a 28-13 win over North Penn-Liberty on Monday, November 28.
After trailing 2-0 after the 1st quarter, the young Lady Hornets went on a 9-2 run in the 2nd to take the lead heading into the half and never looked back. Wellsboro outscored Liberty 14-2 in the 3rd to lead 23-6.
Kate Bryant led the way with 6 points, Adelyn Frantz and Teagan Novinger scored 5 points each, Rylee Coolidge and Peyton Keane added 4 points, and Lauren Gehman and Mazie Johnson chipped in two points each.
Liberty won the B game 21-2. Madison Nagy scored the only basket for Wellsboro.
The Lady Hornets (2-7) are back in action tomorrow at Williamson.
