The Wellsboro Junior High Basketball teams split with Athens at home on Saturday, November 5.
The boys picked up a pair of wins, defeating Athens 39-17 in the A game and 28-21 in the B game. The girls dropped both games, both heart breakers. The A team lost 10-6 and the B team fell 14-11.
In the boys game, Keagan Spaar led the Hornets with 11 points, Ransom Schultz and Ethan Keane scored 8 points each, and Max Mascho and Griffin Morral both chipped in 6 points. In the B game, RJ Doughtie and Jacob Brown both scored 8 points while Tanner Allen added 6.
In the girls game Adelyn Frantz led the Lady Hornets with 3 points, Kate Bryant scored 2, and Teagan Novinger added 1. In the B game Emery Butters scored 3 points and Rylee Coolidge, Jennifer Belz, Hailee Jo Benedict, and Miranda Hoover all added two points each.
Both teams host Williamson tonight.
