Junior High Hornets Rebound Against Canton After 1st Loss

The Wellsboro Junior High Boys Basketball team bounced back with a 47-5 win over Canton after suffering their first loss last Friday.

The Hornets jumped out to an early 15-2 lead after the first quarter and cruised to their 8th win of the season in the rubber match between the Warriors and Hornets.

Ransom Schultz led all scorers with 13 points and also grabbed 7 rebounds. Keagan Spaar and Griffin Morral scored 8 points each, Ethan Keane had 6, and Max Mascho chipped in 4. Gideon Lawton, RJ Doughtie, Reed Richardson, and Luke Szentesy all scored two points each.

Sparr also grabbed 3 rebounds, Colin Fletcher had 2 steals and 2 rebounds, Doughtie added a pair of assists, Keane had 3 assists and 3 boards, Mascho added an assist, a block and a rebound, Morral chipped in with 2 steals, assists and rebounds, and Schultz also recorded 4 steals.

Wellsboro won the B game 35-4. Jacob Brown led the Hornets with 10 points, Mason Brill added 9, Tanner Allen scored 6, Szentesy and Cameron Lane both scored 4 points, and Lane Cozby and Doughtie rounded out the scoring with 2 points each.

Wellsboro returns to action next Wednesday, November 30, at Williamson.
