The Wellsboro Junior High Boys Basketball team completed the season sweep of rival North Penn-Mansfield on Saturday, December 17.
The Hornets set the tone early going on a 13-2 1st quarter run as they went on to outscore the Tigers 26-13 over the next 18 minutes to pick up their 12th win of the season. Max Mascho led Wellsboro with 10 points, Griffin Morral had 8, Ransom Schultz finished with 7, Luke Szentesy added 4, Colin Fletcher and Gideon Lawton each scored 3 points, and Ethan Keane and Keagan Spaar chipped in two points each.
Kane added 7 assists, 4 steals and 3 rebounds, Mascho grabbed 9 rebounds and made 4 steals, Morral grabbed 4 boards, and Schultz had 11 rebounds and 2 steals. Lawton contributed 3 steals and 3 rebounds, and Sparr grabbed 2 rebounds and blocked a shot. Keane, Mascho and Schultz also blocked shots.
In the B game, Wellsboro held on ton win 17-14. Szentesy led all scorers with 12 points, Tanner Allen scored 4, and RJ Doughtie added a point from the foul line.
Wellsboro (12-2) is back in action for the final time in 2022 on the road in Sayre next Wednesday.
