The Wellsboro Middle School Soccer team improved to 5-0 on the season after a 4-1 win against Troy on Tuesday, September 28.
The young Hornets scored 3 first half goals and got off to a quick start as Jacob Baldwin scored from a Jonathan Carl corner kick not even 90 seconds into the game. Baldwin struck again 7:52 in off a pass from Mason Brill to take a 2-0 lead. Exactly two minutes later Wellsboro scored their third goal by Max Macias.
Jacoby Strang put the Hornets up 4-0 12:33 into the second half off an assist from Baldwin.
Troy's goal came on a penalty kick.
Camden Tom had 5 saves.
"The team was fast off the start being aggressive and finding scoring opportunities," said head coach Derek Stevens.
In the B game Wellsboro won 2-1 behind a pair of goals by Brill. Ella Boyce had an assist on one of Brill's goal.
The team is back in action this afternoon as they travel to Galeton.
