The Wellsboro Boys Middle School Basketball Team secured a 53-4 victory over Williamson Thursday evening.
The young Hornets jumped out to a 23-0 lead after the first quarter and took a 32-2 advantage at halftime before cruising to the win in the second half.
"We had another fast start, which has been an emphasis for us over the past week. We struggled to maintain leads in our first few games and we have discussed the importance of staying focused for the whole game," said coach Kyle Smith. "Additionally, we have had contributions from our entire roster this week which is an important aspect of team basketball."
Aaron Kirk led the balanced Hornet attack with 12 points, Jonathan Carl scored 10 points, Jacob Baldwin scored 10 points, Luke Rothermel added 6 points, Ethan Keane and Drayden McGee each scored 4 points, Malachai Rinebold scored 3 points, Maxwell Mascho scored 2 points and Max Macias also scored 2 points.
The Wellsboro Boys B Team won their 4th game in a row 30-21. Gideon Lawton paced the Hornets with 12 points, Maxwell Mascho scored 10 points, and Keagan Spaar, Syler Pietrzyk, Colin Fletcher and Mason Brill all scored 2 points.
The Hornets (2-2) travel to Wyalusing on Saturday, November 20.
