Middle School Boys Bball picks up pair of wins over Liberty

The Wellsboro Middle School Boys Basketball team notched a pair of wins over North Penn-Liberty on Tuesday, November 30 and Wednesday, December 1.

The Hornets defeated Liberty 48-14 Tuesday night. They started out with a 12-6 lead after the first quarter and took a 29-10 lead at halftime. The Hornets received contributions from the entire roster and rolled to the victory in the second half.

Aaron Kirk led the Hornets with 17 points, Jonathan Carl and Jacob Baldwin each scored 6 points, Maxwell Mascho scored 5 points, Keagan Spaar, Ethan Keane and Luke Rothermel all scored 4 points and Drayden McGee added 2 points.

On Wednesday, Wellsboro won 36-7 after opening up a 17-3 lead after the opening quarter. The Hornets led 21-7 at halftime and then outscored NP-Liberty 15-4 in the second half to secure the win.

The Hornets were led by Luke Rothermel and Aaron Kirk who scored 9 points each. Ethan Keane, Drayden McGee and Jacob Baldwin all scored 4 points and Jonathan Carl, Max Mascho and Keagan Spaar all scored 2 points each.

The Hornets (6-2) are back in action again Thursday evening against North Penn-Mansfield at 6:00 p.m.
