The Wellsboro Boys Middle School Basketball team defeated Wyalusing 47-9 on Saturday. The Hornets led 18-2 after the first quarter, 31-5 at halftime and 39-5 after three quarters.
"Once again our defensive effort led to transition baskets and allowed us to build a quick lead," said head coach Kyle Smith. "If we continue to focus on the defensive end of the court, our athleticism can take over games. We had a good week on the defensive end of the court, so I am pleased with that aspect of our game."
Ethan Keane led the Hornets with 14 points, Aaron Kirk added 12 points, Jonathan Carl and Maxwell Mascho each scored 7 points, Luke Rothermel scored 5 points and Jacob Baldwin added 2 points.
The Hornet B team won 34-22 to improve to 5-0 on the season. Keagan Spaar scored 18 points, Colin Fletcher and Maxwell Mascho scored 4 points each, Syler Pietrzyk scored 3 points, Gideon Lawton scored 2 points, Joseph Baldwin scored 2 points and Mason Brill added 1 point.
