The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss in the season-opening match to Northeast Bradford on Wednesday, September 8.
NEB won the first two sets 25-19 and took the third set 25-14 for the sweep.
Senior Emma Owlett had 5 kills, junior Madaline Bordas had 10 assists, senior Brianna Smith recorded 10 digs, sophomore Meredith Brownlee had 6 points and 8 digs, and freshman Paige Logsdon had 4 blocks. Freshman Alexandra Urena made 4 kills, senior Olivia Servatius recorded 5 assists and 4 points, and senior Grace Hines had 2 blocks.
Wellsboro won the JV game 2-0 (25-10, 26-24).
The Lady Hornets (0-1, 0-1 NTL Large School Division) are back in action later this evening at Cowanesque Valley.
