Sophomore Cameron Brought was named Newcomer of the Year as the Northern Tier League released their Baseball All-Star teams on Wednesday, June 16.
Brought was one of 5 Hornets to make the All-Star team. He led the Hornets with 33 hits, 9 doubles, tied for the team lead with 25 RBIs while hitting .478 with a .550 on base percentage. He also stole a perfect 7-of-7 bases and had a .893 fielding percentage.
Joining Brought on the All-Star team are senior Kaeden Mann, juniors Darryn Callahan and Isaac Keane, and sophomore Conner Adams.
Callahan was a 1st team selection alongside Brought while Mann, Keane, and Adams were 2nd team picks.
Callahan was 4th on the team with 21 hits but led the Hornets with 6 home runs, 3 triples, tied for the team lead with 25 RBIs, and had a .889 slugging percentage. He was 13-for-13 in stolen base attempts, had a .813 fielding percentage, and had 22 put outs and 4 assists from 3rd base.
Mann led the team with a .990 fielding percentage. Out of 105 total chances, he had 102 put outs, 2 assists and just 1 error behind home plate. He was 5th on the team with 19 hits, he scored 23 runs, 3 doubles, 2 home runs, and 17 RBIs.
Keane was tied for 2nd on the team with 23 hits, scored 20 runs, had 5 doubles, one home run, and 18 RBIs. In the field he had 34 put outs, 4 assists, and an .826 fielding percentage. He was also 4-1 on the mound with 12 strikeouts.
Adams was tied for 2nd on the team with 23 hits, led the team with a perfect 22-for-22 stolen base attempts, had 26 runs scored, one double, one triple, and 7 RBIs. In the field he had 44 put outs, 5 assists, and an .875 fielding percentage.
