The Wellsboro Middle School Soccer team came out on top of North Penn-Liberty with a score of 3-1 on Thursday, October 8.
Annie Gehman scored first for Wellsboro midway through the first half with an assist by Braeden Abernathy. Wellsboro's defense did not allow North Penn-Liberty any shots on goal during the first half of the match. Wellsboro's next goal came just 5 minutes into the second when David Seeling found the back of the net with an assist by Micaiah Fitch. One minute later Alex Citrino scored the third goal of the game with an assist by Jack Bryant. North Penn Liberty scored their only goal of the game just under 15 minutes remaining in the match. Keeper Annie Gehman had 3 saves in goal for Wellsboro.
Wellsboro also came out on top in the second match of the evening with a score of 2-0. Wellsboro scored both goals in the second half of the match with goals by Jonathan Carl and John McCohaghy.
The win improves the team's record to 3-3-1. The team will be back in action on Saturday, October 10 at home against Sayre.
