The Wellsboro Middle School Basketball teams improved to 3-0 with wins over Canton on Saturday, November 9.
The boys A team beat Canton 40-11. The Hornets started fast on the defensive end by forcing early turnovers and took a 22-0 lead at the halftime break.
"I thought our commitment to the defensive end of the court was outstanding, head coach Kyle Smith said. "Thanks to our defense, we were able to get some easy baskets early in the game and that was the key to a fast start."
Tyler Youells paced the hornets with 15 points, Hayes Campbell scored 8, Julian Mann scored 4, Caden Smith, Watson Feil, and Carter Knowlton all added 3 points and Ian Hoose and Blake Solow each had 2 points.

In the girls game the A team won 19-4. Wellsboro Led 4-2 after the 1st quarter and extended their lead to 9-2 at half before leading 13-4 after the 3rd quarter.
"We played great defense, ran our offense well, and got good opportunities, but we missed a lot of layups," coach Darrell Morris said. "The girls are doing a lot of things well. If we can just relax and finish the easy ones, we have the chance to be very good this season."
