The Wellsboro Middle School Soccer team suffered a 4-0 loss to Towanda on Wednesday, October 9.
Towanda scored 3 quick goals in the first 15 minutes of the game. Wellsboro regrouped at half time and held the Black Knights to just one goal in the second half. Towanda out shot Wellsboro 16-3.
Keeper Annie Gehman had 8 saves and keeper Braeden Abernathy had 3 saves in goal for Wellsboro.
Wellsboro came out on top in the second match of the evening, 1-0. Maddy Mascho scored the lone goal for Wellsboro.
Wellsboro and Towanda both took only 2 shots on goal in the match. Keeper Mitchell Butler had one save and keeper Watson Feil had one save.
The loss drops the Hornets to 7-6-1. The team will be back in action on Saturday, October 12 at Troy.
