Middle School Boys Basketball tops Liberty

The Wellsboro Middle School Boys Basketball team defeated Liberty 39-12 on Thursday, November 14 to improve their record to 5-0.

The Hornets got off to a slow start but relied on defensive pressure and solid inside play from Hayes Campbell, Ian Hoose, Watson Feil and Micah Vickery to keep Liberty from scoring inside.

Hayes Campbell scored 18 points to lead all scorers. Caden Smith and Julian Mann each scored 8 points, Mitchel Lechler added 3 points and Ian Hoose scored 2 points.

The B team also won a close, 23-20, game. Micah Vickery scored 8 points, Mitchel Lechler scored 7, Micaiah Fitch added 6 points and Owen Stevens scored 2 points.

The Hornets are back in action Saturday morning against Athens at 10:00 a.m.
