The Wellsboro Varsity Girls Soccer team tied Towanda 2-2 in their first game of the season on Tuesday, September 3.
Towanda scored early in the 1st period before junior Jena Boyce struck with 22:04 remaining to knot the game up off an assist from freshman Jordyn Abernathy. Towanda retook the lead midway through the 2nd period before bernathy scored off an assist from junior Madelyn Rudy with 4:48 remaining.
The Lady Black Knights took 15 shots on the evening with sophomore Lilly Abadi making 13 saves in goal. Towanda had a 10-2 advantage in corner kicks and 2-1 advantage in direct kicks.
The Lady Hornets are back in action at home on Friday, September 6 against rival North Penn-Mansfield.
