Lady Hornets sweep Towanda for second time

The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team swept Towanda for the second time this season on Tuesday, October 1.

The Lady Hornets cruised to an easy 25-3 win in the 1st set, then went on to win the 2nd set 25-14 and the 3rd 25-10 to claim the match.

Senior Caitlyn Callahan had 19 points, 14 kills, and 8 digs, junior Breighanna Kemp had 22 assists, senior Megan Starkweather had 10 kills, 7 assists, 12 points (3 aces), and 2 blocks, and senior Ryann Adams had 10 digs. Junior Bailey Monks had 9 kills and 3 blocks and junior Kathryn Burnett had 9 points and 2 aces.

Wellsboro started off the night with a 2-0 win in the JV game. Wellsboro won the 1st set 25-19 and the 2nd 25-17.

The win improves the Lady Hornets' record to 11-1 (8-1 NTL Large School Division). The team will be back in action on Thursday, October 3 at Wyalusing.
