Seniors Caitlyn Callahan and Megan Starkweather and junior Breighanna Kemp were named to the NTL Volleyball Large School Division All-Star team last Thursday, November 21.
Callahan was also named the NTL's Offensive Player of the Year for the 3rd year in a row. Callahan increased her 2019 totals while helping the Lady Hornets reach their 3rd straight District IV Class AA finals appearance. Callahan led Wellsboro in kills (367) and attempts (715), was 2nd in service points (175), attempts (267), and aces (36), and digs (148).
Callahan finished her career with 896 kills, 472 service points, 113 aces, 106 blocks, and 287 digs
Starkweather followed up her 2018 1st team selection by earning a 1st team selection in 2019. She accumulated 76 kills, 142 service points, 23 aces, 33 blocks, 85 digs, and 167 assists. Starkweather wrapped up her career at Wellsboro with 262 kills, 457 service points, 105 aces, 86 blocks, 150 digs, and 462 assists.
Kemp received her first All-Star nod as a 2nd team selection. Kemp led the Lady Hornets with 234 points (including a perfect 25-for-25 set against South Williamsport), 38 aces, and 304 assists. She was also 4th on the team in kills (60) and digs (130).
