Lady Hornets top Bucktail in D4 quarterfinals

The Wellsboro Girls Tennis team swept Bucktail 3-0 in the quarterfinals of the District IV Class AA team championships at Muncy on Tuesday, October 9.

#5 Wellsboro and #4 Bucktail both had first round byes into the quarterfinals.

"We're excited to have made it through the first round of Districts," said head coach Brianna Thompson. "We had some long rallies and some close matches but it was a really great match against Bucktail. Both teams played really well."

The win improves the Lady Hornets' record to 13-2. The team will continue District team play next Tuesday, October 16 against #1 South Williamsport, 3-2 winners over Central Columbia, back at Muncy.
