The Wellsboro Boys Track team finished 5th with 71.75 points at the NTL Championships on Friday, May 11.
Towanda won the meet with 139.75, followed by Wyalusing (130), Athens (101.75), Canton (78), Wellsboro, Northern Tioga (67.75), Troy (43), Northeast Bradford (40), North Penn-Mansfield (24), and Sayre (4).
Sophomore Aidan Hauser (11.68) and senior Alex Kozuhowski (11.9) were 3rd and 5th in the 100m, Kozuhowski (23.9) and Hauser (23.92) were 4th and 5th in the 200m, junior Brett Rudy (58.48) was 17th in the 400m, junior Bergen Weiner (2:23.9) was 20th in the 800m, junior Aidan Perry (5:11.63) was 17th in the 1600m, and freshman Tylar Wright (11:40.95) was 18th in the 3200m.
Freshman Evan Hoover (18.29) was 7th in the 110m hurdles and sophomore Brennan Warner (45.11) was 5th in the 300m hurdles.
The Hornets' 4x100m relay team of Rudy, freshman Joseph Grab, Hauser, and Kozuhowski won in 44.93 while the 4x400m (3:51.76) was 8th, and the 4x800m (9:23.49) was 8th.
Sophomore Frank Kewitt (5-ft, 2) tied for 7th in the high jump, senior Devin Webster (10-ft, 6) was 3rd in the pole vault, Hauser (19-ft, 11.5) was 2nd in the long jump by Kozuhowski (19-ft, 2.5) in 7th, and Weiner (37-ft, 5) and Kewitt (37-ft, 5) were 7th and 8th in the triple jump. Junior Hunter Brown (34-ft, 8) was 20th in the shot put and 3rd in the discus (132-ft, 6). Sophomore Austin Richards (144-ft) was 3rd in the javelin with Brown (133-ft, 6) coming home 6th.
Members of the team will be back in action at the PIAA District IV Championships at Williamsport Area High School on Thursday, May 17 starting at 6:00 p.m.
