The Wellsboro Boys Soccer team held their annual banquet on Friday, February 9.
The banquet celebrated the team's stellar 2017 season, one that saw the Hornets win the program's first-ever District IV championship.
"The 2017 team was such a special group," said head coach John Shaffer. "As Coach Fitch said in his speech, what made this year so memorable was the journey. Seeing these young men bond as a team but also as friends. That bond led them to win the first district championship in program history and the first state soccer game ever by an NTL team. This group of seniors especially have set the bar for the program. Now it is up to the underclassmen and those even young to strive to match and surpass that goal. The banquet was a wonderful way to celebrate this team as people along with their accomplishments. I would like to give a special thank you to Mr. James Mack and the culinary students who provided a wonderful meal and setting for the banquet."
