On Tuesday, September 26 at 6:00 pm, the Wellsboro Boys Soccer team will be playing for all young men and women fighting against cancer.
The team will honor Callie Cavanaugh by wearing Callie Strong t-shirts for warm ups. During the game, there will be opportunities for individuals to purchase a Callie Strong T-shirt and to donate to Callie's Funds for Cancer Families Callie. Funds raised at the game will be donated to the Janet Weis Memorial Children's Hospital where Callie has been undergoing treatment, or to the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Donations will be used to help other families that they have met during the past two years.
Callie is a beautiful, strong, young lady who is fighting this disease as an 8-year-old. She has been undergoing treatment for almost 2 years at three major cancer centers Callie and her family are Wellsboro natives. Callie's father has been a teacher in our Middle School for 17 years. Many of the players on the soccer team played with Callie's brothers while in Wellsboro.
As a community let us lend our strength to all suffering from cancer. We are all one team in this competition. Come out to support Callie and the Wellsboro Boys Soccer team. Let us fill the stands with Callie Strong supporters and t-shirts.
Our goal is a cure and we are giving an assist!!
