The Wellsboro Varsity Girls Soccer team suffered a 4-0 loss to South Williamsport on Thursday, October 19.
The loss was the Lady Hornets' first in their last six games.
An early goal by South's Lela Warner two minutes in put the Lady Hornets behind the eight ball, but they were able to keep the game close. Once the second half started, South scored another quick goal by Amilee Miller to make it 2-0.
The Lady Mounties added two more goals in the 26th and 22nd minutes to put themselves comfortably ahead.
South Williamsport edged Wellsboro 18-13 in shots and 4-2 in corners. Senior Sydney Tremper made 13 saves in goal for the Lady Hornets while Megan Weber stopped 10 shots for South Williamsport.
Wellsboro won the JV game 2-0 behind goals by juniors Zoe Iseri and Sophie Abadi.
The loss drops the Lady Hornets' record to 10-6-1 (9-3-1 NTL). The girls are back in action on Saturday, October 21 against Sayre.
