The Wellsboro Middle School Boys Basketball team dropped to 0-2 in the Williamsport Tournament with a 46-30 loss to Loyalsock on Friday, February 24.
Wellsboro struggled early on and fell behind 5-0 early, but tied the game on 5 points from Joseph Grab, but Loyalsock built a 10-5 lead as the first quarter came to a close, and the Hornets were never able to recover. The young Hornets closed the gap to 6 points at halftime, but an 11-3 third quarter in favor of the Lancers proved to be the difference in the game as Loyalsock gave Wellsboro their second loss of the tournament.
Grab scored 24 of the Hornets points on the evening. Zach Singer, Isaac Keane, and Darryn Callahan all scored 2 points each.
The Hornets will face the loser of Bloomsburg and Shamokin today at 2:45 p.m.
