The Wellsboro Varsity Girls Soccer team won their third straight game by beating Towanda 4-1 at home on Tuesday, October 10.
Freshman Kerrah Clymer put the Lady Hornets up 1-0 in the first two minutes of the game on a breakaway goal with an assist from sister senior Kailee Clymer. Towanda tied it up with 23 minutes on a Hannah Chilson goal.
The game remained tied for five minutes until junior Emma Poirier put the Lady Hornets up for good on a penalty kick with with 18 minutes remaining in the first half.
Poirier increased the lead with 10 minutes left in the game with Kerrah Clymer assisting. Kailee Clymer capped the scoring with a goal on an assist from Jessica McCarthy with just four minutes remaining.
Wellsboro also won the JV game, shutting out Towanda 1-0 on a goal by junior Zoe Iseri.
The win improves the Varsity team's record to 7-5-1 (7-3-1 NTL). The team will be back in action on Saturday, October 14 as they host rival North Penn-Mansfield.
