Lady Hornets sweep Athens

The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team swept Athens 3-0 on Tuesday, October 10 for their 9th straight win.

The Lady Hornets took the first set 25-13, won the second 25-17, and finished Athens off 25-13 in the third.

Sophomore Ryann Adams led the team with 15 digs, senior Cheyenne Sherman had 12 digs, 8 kills, and 7 points, junior Heidi Zuchowski had 7 kills, senior Jillian Graver had 6 kills, sophomore Caitlyn Callahan had 8 points, 4 aces and a block, and senior Brianne Keane had 24 assists, 13 points, and 5 aces.

Wellsboro's JV team also swept Athens on the night, winning 2-0 (25-12, 25-10), for their 16th win this season.

The win improves the Varsity team to 15-2 (10-2 NTL Large School Division). The team will be back in action on Thursday, October 12 at rival North Penn-Liberty.
