The Wellsboro Golf team took home a 3rd place finish in the 2017 District IV Class AA Golf Championsips at Williamsport Country Club on Thursday, October 5.
Five members of the team took part in day one of the tournament. Juniors Ben Barnett, Brandyn Tuttle, and Taynton Repard and sophomores Joseph Propheta and Ty Morral all represented the Green Hornets and shot a combined score of 351. Lourdes Regional and Northern Tioga each shot 345 on the day, but Lourdes won by tiebreaker to claim the Class AA crown.
Barnett led Wellsboro with a 76 and sits a stroke behind Northern Tioga's Tanner Adriance (75) in 2nd overall. Tuttle tied for 16th with an 88, Repard shot 93, Propheta had 94, and Morral finished with a 101.
Wellsboro finished in front of Benton (352), Midd-West (358), Danville (367), Central Columbia (376), Sayre (400), Lewisburg (402), East Juniata (403), and Montgomery/Muncy (404).
Both Barnett and Tuttle made the cut for day two, which takes place on Saturday, October 7 back at Williamsport Country Club.
