Freshman Kerrah Clymer scored an overtime goal to push the Wellsboro Varsity Girls Soccer team past Northeast Bradford on Friday, September 22.
Clymer's goal came in the 85th minute of play after NEB tied the game up with under 10 minutes of play in regulation remaining. Clymer scored the game's opening goal 8 minutes into the game as her shot attempt bounced off Kiah Russell and into the net to put the Lady Hornets up. Wellsboro then scored with 13 minutes remaining on a goal by junior Emma Poirier.
Hannah Shadduck scored in the 71st minute and again in the 73rd minute for NEB, after Wellsboro played 70 minutes of shutout soccer, sending the game into overtime where Clymer won it.
The Lady Hornets outshot NEB 21-9 and had a 5-4 advantage in corner kicks. Senior Sydney Tremper stopped 7 of NEB's shot attempts and Russell made 16 saves at the other end of the field.
The win improves the Lady Hornets' record to 4-1 (4-1 NTL). The team will be back in action this afternoon against Lakeland.
