Five members of the Wellsboro Swim team were recently named to the Towanda Daily Review's All-Region team.
Senior Nathan Cotner was named All-Region Swimmer of the Year. Cotner had two second place finishes at the District IV Championships to qualify for states. In addition to being named All-Region Swimmer of the Year, Cotner is also a first team selection in the 50 Freestye, 100 Freestyle, and 200 Freestyle.
Joining Cotner on the boys team is junior Connor Brought and freshman Brennan Warner. Brought was a second team selection in 100 Breaststroke and 200 IM. Brought's time of 1:09.56 in the 100 Breaststroke nabbed him a first place finish at the NTL Championships. Brought also finished 8th at the District IV Championships in the event, and 7th in the 200 IM.
Warner was a third team selection in the 50 Freestyle and was the boys Newcomer of the Year. Warner capped off a great freshman year with many second place finishes and qualified for Districts in the 50 Freestyle and 100 Breaststroke.
On the girls team, senior Olivia Kurtz was a second team selection in the 50 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle, and 200 Freestyle. Kurtz qualified for Districts in both the 50 Freestyle and 100 Freestyle, and took home two top-four finishes.
Freshman Cathryn Brought was named the girls Newcomer of the Year and was a first team selection in the 50 Freestyle. Brought won the NTL Championships in both the 100 Freestyle and 100 Breaststroke, qualified for Districts in the 50 Freestyle and 100 Freestyle, and had two second place finishes in those events and almost qualified for states.
