Two first half goals proved to be the difference in the Lady Hornets' loss to South Williamsport on Thursday, September 15.
South attempted an astronomical 41 shots on goal, compared to just 3 shots on goal by the Lady Hornets. Junior Kailee Clymer saved 39 of South's shots and surrendered 2 goals in 80 minutes.
Haley Neidig scored the first goal on an assist by Bella Green with 12:27 remaining in the first half, then Ashley Gardner scored with 21 seconds left in the opening half.
Sophomores Emma Poirier (1) and Dahlia Hosey (2) took the only shot attempts on the night for Wellsboro. Both team were even in corner kicks, with Poirier taking both of Wellsboro's.
The loss drops the Lady Hornets to 1-4 (1-2 NTL). The team will be back in action on Saturday, September 17 in Towanda.
