Sophomore Aidan Perry finished in 55th place out of 214 runners at the PIAA Championships on Saturday, November 5.
Perry ran 17:45 to finish in the top 4 of NTL runners in the boys Class A race. Northeast Bradford's Casey Ellis (16:59) and Garret Smith (17:02) were 14th and 15th and Zak Smith (17:31) was 37th overall.
"The start was very fast and I wound up right next to Casey," Perry said. "But as the race wore on he pulled away and I met Garett and Zak. The conditions were great. It was the fourth race of the day so there were some slippery spots but otherwise excellent."
Wellsboro head coach Ron Brought also felt Perry had a solid day.
"Aidan capped off a great season with a strong showing at the State Championship meet," Brought said. "The course is rolling and challenges the runners with several climbs - more then we normally face during the regular season. Aidan's time was impressive on this course. Thankfully we had perfect weather conditions for the season ending race."
Now that his season is over Perry is focused on the spring.
"The season was great, I hope it'll be even better next season. Now I'm focused on training for track."
