The Wellsboro Middle School Soccer team improved to 5-0 with a 9-1 win over North Penn-Liberty on Friday, September 23.
The young Hornets got on the scoreboard in the game's first 10 minutes on a Zach Singer goal and Joseph Grab assist. Kaeden Mann made it 2-0 Hornets on a Singer assist, and Grab made it 3-0. Mann scored goal number 4 with an assist from Tucker Taft, then assist Grab to make it 5-0. Grab completed the hat trick to make it 6-0 on an assist from Owen Richardson.
Jonathan Wetzel scored the 7th goal for the Hornets and Kara Clymer scored to make it 8-0. North Penn-Liberty had a goal between the Hornets' 7th and 8th goals to avoid the shutout. Grab later finished the scoring with his fourth goal of the game on an assist from Wetzel.
In the B-team game, Wellsboro won 7-0 behind goals from Dustin Benedict (3), Matthew Richardson, Cam Littleton, Drew Manning, and Lilly Abadi.
The team will be back in action on Friday, September 30 at Northern Potter.
