The Wellsboro Varsity Girls Soccer team defeated Williamson 2-1 on Monday, September 19 for their second straight win.
The Lady Hornets took 22 shots on the night to Williamson's 10 and had a 3-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Sophomore Elizabeth Macias scored the game's first goal in the first half off an assist from sophomore Julia Smith to make it 1-0 Wellsboro. Williamson's Madi Lee later tied it at 1-1. The game remained tied until 2:42 left in the game when sophomore Emma Poirier scored off an assist by sophomore Dahlia Hosey to give the Lady Hornets the win.
Poirier had 7 shots on goal during the game and took all 3 of Wellsboro's corner kicks. Junior Kailee Clymer recorded 9 saves in goal.
The win improves the Lady Hornets' record to 3-4 (3-2 NTL). The team will be back in action on Wednesday, September 21 as they host Northeast Bradford.
