The Wellsboro Varsity Girls Soccer team dropped their third straight match in a 2-0 loss to Williamsport on Wednesday, September 28.
The Lady Hornets defense did a great job keeping Williamsport's fast-paced offense in check the majority of the night. Williamsport got on the scoreboard midway through the first half on a goal from Samantha Reeder and assist by Abigail Berthold to make it 1-0. In the second half, Aaryka Goodwell converted a Samantha Reeder assist to make it 2-0 Williamsport with 9:53 remaining.
Williamsport outshot Wellsboro 11-0, junior Kailee Clymer saved 9 of those shots, and had a 3-2 advantage in corner kicks.
In the JV game, Williamsport beat Wellsboro 8-0.
The loss drops the Lady Hornets' record to 4-7 (4-3 NTL). The team will be back in action on Tuesday, October 4 against Towanda.
