The Wellsboro Boys Soccer team shutout the Troy Trojans 5-0 for their second consecutive shutout on Thursday, September 15.
"It was a great game from the boys," said head coach John Shaffer. "We had the whole squad healthy for the first time this year. They kept the ball moving and created 23 scoring opportunities. The team is improving every game."
The Hornets got on the board with 26:58 remaining in the first half senior Jacob Singer assisted Brett Rudy to make it 1-0. With 14:06 left senior Josiah Hill scored his first goal of the night on an assist from junior Noah Fitch to make it 2-0. The score remained 2-0 in favor of Wellsboro until 32:28 of the second half when Hill assisted Singer to make it 3-0. Not ever a minute later, junior Tanner Runyan scored to make it 4-0, then junior Gabe Leach assisted Hill for his second goal of the night with 25:09 to make it 5-0.
