Senior Josiah Hill was named Offensive Player of the Year in the Towanda Daily Review's All-Region boys soccer team on Thursday, November 17.
Hill had the best season in Wellsboro soccer history, scoring region-high 41 goals and shattering not only the previous boys career scoring record but the school scoring record. Hill's career total sits at 94 goals.
Also joining Hill (first team) on the All-Region team are senior Jacob Singer, juniors Tanner Runyan, Gabe Leach, and Ryan Stough, and sophomore Brett Rudy.
Runyan and Leach were both second team selections, Rudy and Singer were both third team selections, and Stough was named Newcomer of the Year and made the All-Rookie team.
Runyan was second on the team in goals (13), shots (46), and assists (8) and Leach led the team in corner kicks (75) and assists (15), while being the team's 5th leading scorer.
Rudy was the scored 9 goals and added 3 assists on 36 shot attempts and Singer scored 6 goals, was 2nd on the team in assists (8), and was 1-for-1 in penalty kicks.
Stough, while not having many stats that show up in the score books, contributed an immense amount on the defensive side of the ball and protecting the net.
