The Wellsboro Track teams came home with second and third place finishes against Athens and Troy in Athens on Wednesday, April 27.
The Lady Hornets finished 2nd (75) behind Athens (86) and ahead of Troy (22), while the boys were 3rd (21) behind Athens (128) and Troy (37).
For the girls, senior Jada Jackson (13.38) and freshman Dahlia Hosey (13.85) were 2nd and 3rd in the 100m, senior Lindsey Graver (28.58) was 2nd in the 200m, freshman Zoe Iseri (1:12.4) was 5th in the 400m, senior Camryn Keane (2:49.55) was 2nd in the 800m, sophomore Anna Bleggi (5:54.91) was 2nd in the 1600m, and freshman Elizabeth Macias (14:28.59) was 3rd in the 3200m.
Senior Haley Zuchowski (17:58) was 4th in the 100m hurdles and 3rd in the 300m hurdles (51.45), Jackson (50.02) won the 300m hurdles, and Wellsoboro was 2nd in the 4x400m relay (4:50.71) and 3rd in the 800m relay (11:50.57). Wellsboro swept the high jump with senior Raisa Rogers (5' 1"), senior Mikayla Feil (4' 7"), and Hosey (4' 7") taking the top 3 spots, senior Joey Taft (8' 6") and sophomore Kaitlyne Kramer (8' 0") were 1st and 2nd in the pole vault, Jackson won the long jump (16' 6.25") with Graver (15' 0.25") in 3rd, and Jackson (35' 3") and Graver (30' 11") swept the triple jump.
Juniors Hannah Lawton (25' 9.5") and Allyssa Boyd (24' 9") were 2nd and 3rd in the shot put, Lawton (82' 9") and junior Samantha Spurgeon (78' 0") were 3rd and 5th in the discus, and Mikayla Feil (94' 9"), Spurgeon (92' 3.5"), and sophomore Grace Feil (88' 2") were 2nd, 3rd, and 4th in the javelin.
For the boys, junior Alex Freeman (12.99) was 7th in the 100m and 3rd in the 400m (59.84), freshman Taylor Wheeler (29.86) was 9th in the 200m, senior Isaac Leach (2:15.28) and sophomore Gabe Leach (2:22.96) were 4th and 5th in the 800m, and Aidan Perry (5:02.68) was 4th in the 1600m and 2nd in the 3200m (11:07.55).
Wellsboro was 3rd in the 4x400m (4:18.95) and 2nd in the 4x800m (9:31.3). Freeman (4' 10") was 4th in the high jump, sophomore Devin Webster and Gabe Leach (8' 6") tied for 1st in the pole vault, freshman Isaac Wagner (15' 6") was 8th in the long jump, Wheeler (29' 3") was 5th in the triple jump, junior Casey Hoover was 10th in the shot put (29' 11.5) and 5th in the discus (92' 5"), and junior Brody Coolidge (126' 6.5") was 4th in the javelin.
The girls fall to 6-1 while the boys fall to 0-7. The teams will be back in action on Tuesday, May 3 against Towanda.
