Volleyball shuts out Athens, 3-0 to stay undefeated

The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team kept their undefeated regular season record in tact with a 3-0 win over Athens on Thursday, September 17.

The team took the first set 25-16, won the second 25-23 and the third 25-18. The JV team also won 2-0 (25-9, 25-17) on the night to improve to 3-1 on the year.

Junior Kirsten Florio led the team with 10 kills and 2 blocks. Senior Maddy Kyle had 13 assists, junior Morgan Florio had 4 kills, 10 assists, and 2 blocks, senior Mikayla Feil recorded 8 kills and 14 points (1 ace), senior Darci Warriner scored 9 points and made 9 digs, senior Haley Zuchowski had 8 points with an ace, and senior Hannah Wagaman made 12 digs.

With the win, the Lady Hornets improve to 4-0 (2-0 NTL Division 1). The team will be back in action on Monday, September 21 as they host Cowanesque Valley.
