The Wellsboro Middle School Soccer team tied Northern Potter 1-1 on Thursday, October 15.
The Hornets found themselves behind 1-0 in the first half. Northern Potter scored on a well place shot taken from behind the eighteen.
The Hornets dominated the second half controlling the ball and taking numerous shots on goal. Despite the constant pressure the Northern Potter goalie continued to make save after save. The Hornets appeared to score off a free kick, however the goal was called off because the Hornets were off sides.
Will Poirier would score the off a penalty kick minutes later to tie the game 1-1. The Hornets had more opportunities the rest of the game, but failed to find the back of the net a second time.
"I was happy to see us pick up the intensity in the second half," said head coach Ed Hamm. "I am hoping we can play the rest of our games with the same effort throughout the entire game."
The B-game ended in a scoreless tie.
The Hornets are now 5-2-1. The team will be back in action on Saturday, October 17 as they host Liberty.
