The Wellsboro Middle School Soccer team picked up their first win of the season by defeating Galeton 3-0 on Wednesday, September 9.
Kaeden Mann scored off an assist from Evan Hoover to put the Hornets up 1-0. In the second half Wellsboro continued to control the ball and had more shots on goal.
Will Poirier dribbled past Galeton defender to score Wellsboro's second goal of the game and Zack Rowland scored off a corner assist from Poirier for the final goal.
Galeton had more second half opportunities and came close to scoring several times, but failed to find the back of the net.
Nathan Heath recorded six saves in goal for the Hornets to earn the shut out.
With the win the Hornets improve to 1-1. The team will be back in action on Thursday, September 17 as they travel to Liberty.
